Downloadable designs from our homepage are always for free.
We do digitize as a hobby and for ourselves.

However, we offer to create you personal crochet-type designs (see zodiac as example) from your own images for a small charge. You can send us your own black/white image and will get it turned into an embroidery design.

What images can I have digitized?

Only two-color (usually black&white) images can be digitized. Each pixel of the images corresponds to either a "filled" or an "empty" square of the crochet design. Each square is 3.5mm in size, so depending on the hoop size, images should be in the range of 40x40 pixels. The pictures at the bottom of this page give an example.

How much does it cost?

The exact amount will depend on the amount of needed work as well as what the design will be used for. Simple and small designs are easier than others. Special requests (e.g. non-square designs) may cost a little extra. The prices apply for the case of recieving directly usable source images. Additional costs may rise if image processing is needed first.

If you want to have full commercial copyright of the designs, it will be rather expensive. However, if the copyrights remain with us, and further selling of the design remains prohibited, it will become much cheaper. If you, in addition, agree on sharing the design for free (on this homepage), it will become even cheaper.

If you send us an image, we will quote you a price (in the currency you ask for).
As a rule of thumb: One of the 20x20 pixel zodiac designs would have cost the following:

300 € for full commercial use
50 € for limited commercial use.
(Selling the design is not allowed, but selling stitched out work is.)
30 € for personal or charity use only
(Neither design nor stitched out work may be sold. Selling for charity fund rising is allowed (maybe check back))
10 € for personal use and making the design freely available

What format will you provide the design in?

We will provide the designs in the same formats as the downloadable files from our homepage. ( ART, HUS, PCS, PES, SEW, XXX )

If you are not sure about the file formats, please test out one of the free crochet designs from this homepage, e.g. a zodiac sign.

How do I stitch crochet designs?

There might be different ways of doing it, but we stitch our designs on a double-sheet of Avalon PLUS (Madeira) fabric, just like our free standing lace. We rinse the fabric with warm water under the shower.

Will I get money back if the design does not stitch out (well) ?

Although we believe our designs to be of good (tested) quality, we unfortunately can not guarantee that the designs will stick out well on you machine and with the material you use. We can thus not guarantee success. Please try one of the free crochet designs first (e.g. a zodiac sign). However, if your personal design has an obvious flaw, we will send you a repaired design free of charge.
